Increasing Access to Quality and Affordable Toilets in Nigeria

Open defecation seriously impedes Nigeria’s ability to achieve sanitation goals.

Lack of access of  toilets is a major cause of open defecation and diseases in many communities across Nigeria like most parts of the world with over 120 million people, not using a toilet. Instead, they go out  in the open fields, railway tracks, garbage dumps, parks and roadside ditches. This is incredibly dangerous, as exposure to human waste causes diarrhea and other diseases that can be deadly, especially for children

We know that it is not enough to promote shame and disgust or build latrines. People need motivation to use Toilets! At Toiletpride, we combine Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS), Social and behavior change communication (SBCC) and Sanitation marketing to generate sanitation demand and strengthen the supply of sanitation services aimed at improving the health of millions of Nigerians. That way more Nigerians can take pride in building and using latrines!

Join us as we take improved toilets to more families in Nigeria!
